Situated on the magnificent Sognefjord, the world's longest fjord, Kaupanger is a delightful small town with loads to see. There is the 12th century stave church, typically Norwegian and of unique wooden construction, the open air Folk Museum of Norwegian life from the middle ages up to the modern day, and of course there is the fjord and the mountains.

This farm (gård) is situated on the slopes leading down to the fjord's shore and is beautiful setting for five holiday cottages of varying styles and sizes. All are laid out freely in the natural surroundings without near neigbours. There is beautiful view from all of them to the Sognefjord, glacier and mountains The houses are all restored during the last years. They are comfortably furnished with a mix of norwegian farm antiques and new furniture. The houses have beds for 4 - 12 persons. |

Amble Gård Activities:
There are boats laying by the Sognefjord, which you can use for free. You only pay for petrol. On the estate there are lakes, where you can catch trout. As our guest you do not have to pay fishing license. By one of the lakes is the old mountain farm, which is at your disposal.
