Lyngdal
is situated in the middle of "Sørlandet" -
the south coast of Norway, only 74 km from the south coast
capital Kristiansand, 126 km from Egersund and 180 km from
Stavanger.
Lyngdal Municipality has 7000 inhabitants. The commune's
coastline stretches over 90 km and there are 3 fjords,
each more than 10 km long. In addition you will find great
moorland areas. Our scenery gives room for many exciting
activities and has contributed to Lyngdal being a popular
tourist area. Our central location makes it possible to
use Lyngdal as a base for day trips to exciting and well
known tourist areas like Lysefjorden, Prekestolen and Kristiansand
Zoo and amusement park.
Lyngdal is centrally situated in Sørlandet (the
south coast of Norway) approx. 1 hour's drive from Kristiansand.
The E39 and Norsjøvegen (the scenic coastal road)
goes through the whole of Lyngdal district.
Frequent departures by bus to Kristiansand and Stavanger.
There is also a route to Hamburg. The nearest train station
is Snartemo, approx. 20 km from Lyngdal centre. It is
also possible to hire a car in Lyngdal.
