Cycling and Cycle
Tours in Norway
Cycling
Norway has rugged, unspoiled nature and varied topography. Still, we have bicycle
trails to suit both the very fit and the more easy-going bicyclist. From
the seat of a bicycle you will experience the country in a more direct and
real way. You can take a short tour, maybe only a modest day trip, or a tour
lasting for a week or more.

The organisation Cycle Tourism in Norway has been active
in getting an assortment of cycle routes marked and has assembled
information about the routes into a single publication. The
routes are signposted and follow roads that have little or
no automobile traffic. You will find places to rent cycles
and cycle-friendly accommodation along the routes. You set
the pace yourself and decide how far you want to ride. You
are free to stop whenever you like to enjoy the countryside.
The
North Sea Route
The North Sea Cycle Route runs through no less than 7 countries
for 6,000 kilometres, and in Norway it takes in many of
the main towns in Rogaland; Egersund, Stavanger, and "cycle city" Sandnes,
Skudeneshavn, Kopervik and Haugesund, all boasting a diversity
of activities and cultural highlights easily accessible
to the cycle tourist. More
